Briefly about me
I am a student majored in Mathematics and Computer and Information Science in the Ohio State University. Through learning the courses of these two majors, I found they are highly related. I always use mathematical concepts to explain the principles in computer science. I hope to have experience in real work to practice my learning and also learn something new. I think Smalltalk is a good choice. The project is attractive and challenging to me, but I'm sure I can get unforgettable memory.
About my study
I have taken math courses about real analysis, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, complex analysis, etc. On the other hand, I'm familiar with math software like Matlab, and I have learned computer skills like Language C, software programming, database, numerical analysis, and computer system.
I have strong interest in math and computer science. The Smalltalk provides the opportunity for me to combine them together and practice. I think it will be a great experience and contribute to my future development.
My non-Smalltalk experiences so far
I have practicing coding and using math software in the university. However, learning in the class is quite different from real work. I think do the real work will bring me more than just knowledge. That's why I want to join the Smalltalk during the summer.
My Smalltalk experiences so far
I have no Smalltalk experience so far. This time, I wish I could have the chance to experience it and learn from the mentor through the project.
Why am I interested in Smalltalk?
Smalltalk provides me a platform to practice what I learned and explore the unknown. The programs provided by Smalltalk are of high quality and highly related to what I have learned.
Will I stay with Smalltalk after the project is finished?
I will stay with Smalltalk after the project is finished. There are many areas that Smalltalk is helpful. I want to figure them out. Moreover, there are many things I can learn through Smalltalk and I'd like to keep contact with Smalltalk. If I face problems, maybe Smalltalk can help, and I would like to help Smalltalk if needed.
