Biography for Juan Pablo Sandoval A.

Briefly about me

I'm a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Chile, since March 2012.

About my study

I got graduated as a Systems Engineer at the Universidad Mayor de San Simon, Bolivia, in 2010.

My interests

My research interests are: Object-Oriented Programming, programming languages, software engineering and software quality.

My non-Smalltalk experiences so far

I worked in outsourcing projects developing and designing applications for distributed environments including desktop, web and mobile (java, javascript, objective-c). Responsible for the design and implementation of flexible and scalable software solutions. Provide technical leadership to a team and ensuring development of quality products. Responsibilities also include meeting commitments.

My Smalltalk experiences so far

I have worked with pharo-smalltalk for more than a year already. At present time I work on Versionner, a Metacello UI ( Project and configuration management for Monticello). I also had the pleasure to participate on Smalltalks 2011 (Argentina) by giving a talk about software visualization and execution traces, using tools like Mondrian, Glamour and Spy.

Why am I interested in Smalltalk?

Since I started using Smalltalk, I have never stopped to surprise myself of the easiness to make new things that look complicated at the beginning. The Smalltalk community is very active and very willing to help each other.

Will I stay with Smalltalk after the project is finished?

Sure!
